how bad is the split you could always try cleaning it up degreasing it and glueing it see if it holds out

It's always worth replacing/repairing CV gaitors rather than waiting for the CV joint to fail - far cheaper.

Is it an inner or outer gaitor that's split?

Where abouts on the gaitor is it split? I've successfully repaired cuts in them before using a bicycle puncture repair kit, but that only works if the split is on a flat section (not if it's in the bottom of one of the folds).

Il jack it up and see where the rip is I think il just repair it also checked gear box oil seems all nice n clear and red like it should, engine oil seems a little dark but il service it when next mot is due, brother drive it said it drove smooth and good all that he recommends is getting it balanced n tracking as it vibrates as he hit the kerb, I started the prelude and its good no overheating nice n silent clear and few droplets of water I really can't wait to drive it lol hurry up October I want to get this beast on the road, brother recommended alloys but I want to keep it original with the original Hub caps and interior and exterior
