Well good news is we have a car! Bad news is it isn't a prelude!
For our sins we have got a 306 GTI but to be fair it's in pretty good nick, well in budget and was only 2 streets away so we couldn't really turn it down.
Thanks for all the help on the prelude and who knows maybe we will end up with one at some point.
