VTEC H23's are quite common in the sates, not particularly rare lude-dude.
There's no point fitting uprated cams etc. if you're sticking with the standard ECU.
Think you need to decide for sure some basics on what you want out of the car first Rosie, before looking at what bits should go in the engine. i.e. do you want standard or uprated performance?
And if you want uprated, so you want turbo or non-turbo?
And if you want turbo, how far do you want to go - light turbo can be done with standard internals, anything above light turbo will need lots of the internals upgrading.
And how much money do you want/can you throw at it?
