Hi mercutio,
You just gave me a fright as what with partner having three over the years (Two 2.2 Vtec's - one import and one not, plus a 2.3, my head is imploding!) Sorry, it's been a mad week shooting over to the mainland on very overpriced ferries to get a quick replacement for the Accord, only to look at sad old ex-minicab Avensis with corroded steering wheels and knackered driving seats with 72K on the clock- yeah right.
Anyway, the prelude is an import which might explain the 2WS? Hope this status does not cloud things.

Thanks for your offer Asacei. Great chance as you are visiting here too. I will get back before 16th to double check as the part numbers maybe more important as it is an import. I maybe should have made this clear although it might not matter. The numbers are SSO95 94010874 SSORH (casting).
I must say the generousity and help I have already received from all concerned is a credit to the site and you , the members.

That might work then, I need to do a run over the Bristol/Wales, probably in the next week, to pick up some bits, so I could drop off to you if everything works out. See how I get on with car stripping this weekend...Asacei wrote:Well I am basically just off Junction 11 ON the M25, will be catching the ferry across at Southamptonwurlycorner wrote:Where are you traveling from @Asacei ?

Thanks again all,
To be honest I am not particularly mechanical like many of the members but I do love the preludes. I managed to find three good ones over the last 10 years or so and my partner wants no other car. She has hated the new Focus insurance rental which has to be returned Monday - just wants her Prelude back. My health makes it difficult for me to get in and out but my partner will be gutted if we lose this one.
Mercutio said that all 2.2 VTECs have 4WS which threw me as I have lost touch with which one has been 4WS and which 2WS. All the same I thought this one was not 4WS. I managed to get hold of the garage this morning and they are sure it’s 2WS with definitely no rack, electronic or otherwise, in the rear. This is weird as other sources all say what Mercutio says.
Any ideas? Were there 2WS 2.2 VTECs? At least I know for absolute sure it is a 2.2 VTEC! It has not been altered in any way. It was imported early in it’s life.
