I'm 26 and have had my licence for 8 years, but have 0 no claims bonus because the last car I got any bonus on was back in 2011 and my civic I sold before the 10 months was up. I was on go-compare the other day and I checked the insurance on prelude VTI which swiftcover has come up with £680. Trouble is I just done a quote for a later model which obviously has the 200ps engine and that is over £1000 to insure.... Don't know if any of you guys know if I should ring around perhaps ? To be honest though even the 185ps is fine for me I'm not a street racer or a track ninja. Did a quote for the SIR mentioned earlier in the thread and that seems to down on the logbook and an Accord ES. Most likely an import gentleman's sausage up when registering.

haha yep the swear filter does give some good results

There are a couple of insurers that advertise on the forum and give club discounts/specialise in import models.
Prestige, Adrian Flux, Sky (in no particular order);

Try them as well as the on line comparison sites.

Got word back from the Colchester one,

Hello mate thank for the inquiry. The rust on the rear arches is very light, it had been repaired in the past but must not of been a great job. The tax is till the end of this month i just wanted it to go befor it ran out so could be driven. The main beam is just the bulb it went about a week ago. The wheel bearing is very noisey but it's been like that the whole year we have had it, she often got driven to west London to see family so yes i would say it's more than safe. The engine code is that yes I forgot to put that, it's the 200bhp one. When we had our accord type r there was nothing between the speed of them it was very impressive. I really will be sad to see it go I really wanted to keep it for a track car but I just don't have the time and she's too good to leave sitting there. With what I can see I think I'm gonna pass on it. I'll have tax to pay then soon enough the MOT will come round and the insurance hike over the 185ps engine etc... Think I will wait another month or two to see what comes up on here.
