This may well be true, yes. I thought it was going to be because I was driving round West/North London looking at Jazz;s, but hopefully not and it'll just be a run out to pick up rear speaker grilles for the 3g :D

The downpipe and back box will fit in the boot, the centre pipe needs the back seats folded down (yes, it fits in a 4g with just the ski hatch and with a rear strut brace!)

I'm due there as well to collect a couple of bits.
A germ of an idea?

Ok, I'm not going to Watford on Sunday, but I think I am going to Barking, so sailor and I have been chatting and pretty sure we can make the first 2 legs work one way or the other (we'll confirm on the day).

@Prelude91 if it gets to Sailor's, are you ok to relay it on from there?

Yep, no probs. would need to arrange collection from sailor, presumably he's not a million miles from me, then arrange collection between me and Maxhead, either I travel to south of island via. soton , cowes in the 3g or I foot it to cowes and he collects from me at the ferry. Second part depends on expenses / re-imbursement from Maxhead.

Sorry everyone about not being around yesterday. Yet another hospital visit and news not great. I really can't get over how helpful you are all being. I am really, really sorry to mess you all around with this but we have been seriously wondering after the hospital yesterday whether to carry on with the car. Ten years and three ludes have been great for the g/f but now the rust is eating into the nearside arch more and more and though I love this island, it can be a bugger to keep things going from here when you feel lousy. I still haven't made a decision as I am going round and around, loathing the idea of selling the car. Battle of the head and the heart (and I bet I'm not the only one here that has been through that one)

I was very optimistic on Wednesday and wurley will tell you how keen I have been to keep it on the road (I have been messaging him all the time since the rack success) but I have to think realistically about my health.

Hell my reputation is gonna take a dive on this site. Please give me a couple of hours to work everything out and will let you know by 6.30pm. I realise this could mess up some of your plans. I am waiting on a couple of people on the island to call me back. I am so sorry to mess you all around if I decide to get rid of the car. :( :( :(

No worries, max, sounds like health issues are coming to the fore. They tend to re-align ones priority on life somewhat. Let me know how things are for you, both car and health, either on the forum, or if you'd prefer, by pm. Just to clarify, If you weren't in a rush, I'd willingly come over tail end of the week, and i'll make a long weekend of it, as most of my family come from the island, and I come over from time to time to do a bit of work on my family tree. Good luck with the decision-making, and willing to help. either way.

Thanks all who offered kind help,
I have been unwell for some time but yesterday's results were not as good as I had expected/hoped for. Trouble is, I have spent the day in semi-denial about the future but I think I've got to just accept removing as many complications as I can.
I tried hard to keep the car going - it's been excellent for six years, but health, or lack of it, sure effects a person in so many ways. Obvious really, but you know how it is, you tend to think it won't happen to you.

At least I am not terminal or anything :) - just not getting better anytime soon. Enough feeling sorry for myself and thanks so much to you all who offered help. I'll be around, Max
