In the UK, the VTEC cars were offered in one flavour - 4WS, cruise, aircon, sunroof etc.
The other NON VTEC models were able to be specced.

The JAP cars were a blank slate. Practically everything was offered as an option, so you can get VTEC cars with none of the other options (inc 4WS)

Hope this helps. 8-)

Don't forget a popular conversion was to throw the 4ws off and convert it to 2ws(It was for the numbnuts who can't drive!)

BTW Welcome to LG :)

It might be a bit late, but I have a front steering rack from a JDM import / auto 2.2VTEC sat on my cellar floor waiting to be sold...

This is the sticker visible on the bottom of my rack. same start and same format at yours, but the end digits are different. Is that number your garage gave you the part number, or the serial number? This looks to me like a serial number tbh.

If yours is a BB4 or a BA8 chassis, I'm sure this will be the same rack because they're all 2ws.
The BB1 rack might be different, on account of having the sensor for the 4ws.
I'll take it off now anyway and see if there are any other part numbers on it.

Lots of other bits now off the car, will update other interested buyers later...

This is something else. I know I keep going on about it but this is how the internet should be. Making some money sure but the interest and help is really excellent.
Thanks again Acacei - I am only 3 or 4 miles from Shanklin. Also thanks to h10ndr as this is a piece of luck too. Wurleycorner is helping out right now but I will check his advice about the numbers with the garage in the morning and see how things work out. Thanks Benny boy, paul bristol and everyone else too. God I sound like some dumb winner at a cheesy Hollywood awards ceremony.

Anyway, things are finally starting to improve as I have got a 12 year old Accord that has a genuine 80k on the clock so that eases some of the hassles. Cost quite a bit more than the insurance final offer, but looking in obvious need of a car didn’t help my bargaining position. Hopefully I’ll get more than 5 or 6 hours sleep for the first time for a while and start to get my brain back.

Listen to me whining on, god dammit I could be in Gaza right now.
Anyway, thinking back I remember feeling and seeing the rear wheel steering on the previous 2.2. Our latest one definitely does not have that and no rack in the back according to the garage, so that kind of clinches it ! I’ll check all the numbers tomorrow as soon as I get them from the garage.
