Not meaning to start world war 3, but I have owned a 4g (JDM BB4 2.2 Si Vtec) and my brother had a 5g (JDM BB6 2.2 Vtec). Personal opinion is the 4g looks and has a more sportier feel. Although both are nice cars. Guess its all down to personal preference as my brother preferred his 5th gen at the time :?
I have owned both and driven both and tbh I love both if I had the room and the money to run and keep two cars I would have both then look for a 3g .
there is a difference in the cars the 4g feels more like your in a cockpit, but the 5g feels grown up more like a touring car. The 4g has a more classic pretty design while the 5g has a more muscular brutal look.
You takes your choice 8-)

Out of interest, which head unit did you go for?
HI Benny,

I went for a Pioneer unit (http://www.roadradio.com/Pioneer/DEH-X8600BT/)
The standard 6 speakers actually sound decent with a good head unit. Amazing how for under £200 you can modernise a car so much especially as manufacturers charge >£100 for bluetooth alone.

Sarah, great to hear we have matching cars. It is a UKDM. I have almost every receipt and the 2nd owner from 1999 to 2013 only took it to Honda which is amazing. Also lived about 5 miles from me in Surrey which I took as a sign that I had to buy her, rescue her from a Devon field and bring her home.I love the leather but needs some polishing. Is your car fairly stock or have you modified it? Any major vtec issues you can scare me with?
Sorry for the slow reply! My email alerts don't seem to be working and I've been busy with stuff and not on here for a while.
Good to her you've rescued another a great looking lude. Mine is indeed stock apart from lower springs, k&n air filter and stainless exhaust. Oh and apparently it has a superchip but I've never verified this beyond the receipt. I got a folder full of receipts with mine too. The main owner had kept it main dealer for most of its life and when he needed a new number plate even went back to TJ Hughes the original supplying dealer so the plates would match the originals supplied!!

No stories to scare you with so that's good. My vtec solenoid weeped oil when I bought it and I managed to clean it up and reseat it with the same gasket and it's not leaked since which is good - there's some pics on here of that somewhere.

Only thing I'll say is enjoy pushing it over that 5500 rpm line and hearing it kick in. The sound is hard to beat even if it is a bit thirsty ;-)

Hi all,

I've been busy giving her a little TLC over the last month or so and thought I would share some pics today with her all polished. Had wheels refurbed, body full machine polished with rear bumper respray as well as some other small jobs. Not perfect but looks far newer than 18 years old. Air con now ice cold too. As you can tell, I love this car.
Hope the pics meet with your approval!

Looking good!!

Also, if you ask someone nicely, I bet they'll send you a good glovebox lid with working clip for not very much money... assuming it's broken in the picture below?

Hi, no glovebox lid if fine, dodgy bit of gaffer tape is from old aftermarket alarm fitted in 1998, wiring just needs hiding away better. Came loose after new stereo fitted and ipod cable threaded round back of glove box. Hardest part to find was new coin box. Honda wanted £50! Eventually found one on eBay for £10. It's so small it is next to useless but feels great to have it in its rightful place.

Ah I see, I thought it was a broken clip. If you want to spend money, look for a Honda Personal Box, its a red velvet lined ashtray replacement for non-smokers! Rare as rocking horse poop (although you can buy fake 'personal box' stickers off eBay haha)
