Hi and welcome :D
the VIN plate in the engine bay should say BB4. That is the chassis code for the 2.2vtec 2WS import 4th gens
Hope you get everything sorted.

Thought I had better update this, for completeness

Successfully squeezed the Rack and Column into the car along with what seemed to be pretty much everything else we own  but its always pretty cramped in the car anyway on these kind of trips and we had a good journey so wasn't too bad at all. Went straight from the ferry to Max and dropped it all off no problems at all. Quite jealous of the views from Max's house, stunning

It was great to meet Max, hope everything on the car now works out :)

I will update this shortly but just to say wurly and Acacei were absolute stars helping out . The rack, column and track rods were in excellent condition and packed well and now we are on the road again. Acacei and family including the dog were great too for fitting in a long box in their car with all their hol stuff and themselves and delivering to the door - right down south on the island. Thanks both and welcome anytime. Maybe meet at an event sometime if I can get a mortgage to finance a ferry ticket :) :D
