Thanks for your replies thus far, crunchy, its me that's Southampton based, I've seen the red one a coupl'a times, I think it lives in Eastleigh, I'm in Townhill Park, had mine for 13 years now, largely trouble free years, tho' been off the road for 22 months, had to have several jobs done for M.O.T. and then busted my rad after a week back on the road!!! have you or any others had to replace this particular spec. rad before, as I'm struggling a bit.
Govinda at Lodge Road sourced the one from Nissens that turned out to be incorrect, he returned it without a quibble on Friday after trying to get it adapted to mine to no avail, a supplier in London had also recommended the same wrong item as well.
Post this up in the appropriate forum buddy, got more chance of getting a reply in the tech section rather than in the newbie forum ;)

Great shop, I used to use Govinda's when I lived down there and was always very happy/impressed.

Hi Mills, thanks for the advice, will recompose msg into tech section later today when I've learnt how to navigate, wurly, you're right, out of all the local motor factors, govinda has always had the best knowledge base regards jap stuff, hence my trying him foremost, were you born local, or just lived here a while?

Lived in Soton for about 2 1/2 years (first year was literally just round the corner from Govinda, on Clausentum Rd then after that I was on Archers Rd)

Yep I remember the Dell. It closed the end of the season I was first down there. Then the second time I moved down there they'd pretty much finished the development.

Crunchy, I was a regular in The Bent Brief. I lived with students at the time so I was a regular in jesters too  but I was earning (sandwich year) so got to go up market and do New York's too  (ok, when I actually wanted to go up market we went out in Ocean Village, back before they ruined it all by demolishing everything and then taking over a decade to put some bits back that have none of the atmosphere of the old bars :tosser: )

Haha glad to see someone else who admits to enjoying NY2 :-D It was great fun that place.
The bar next door could shove it though, full of kids that couldn't handle their alcopops and insisted on getting in fights all the time. :? McKlusky's was it? :? Something like that..?
