Proud new gen 2 owner!

Post by JayDee2G » Sat Aug 30, 2014 4:33 pm

Hi all

I'm Jamil from Manchester & I've just bought a gen 2, its 1.8 EX 12 valve dual carb manual & got to say its an absolute minter, Full MOT, no rust anywhere - around the sunroof looks like new, spare wheel well is like new, arches etc all clean, only a tiny bit of surface bubbling on one rear arch. Chrome is still nice & shiny!

Had 2 elderly owners from new, & the last one had dry stored it since 2002 & before he stored it he had it resprayed & a new exhaust.

Drove it home over 150 miles & its drives bang on. Don't have any pics yet but here's the ebay link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311060120395? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Just a couple of niggly things to sort but nothing mechanical.

First will get a full service, replace all fluids, cambelt & waterpump, full check over by specialist & When I have some more cash the only plans are to refit the rear mud flaps, drop it a bit (& replace all bushes) & fit some 15 inch period correct wheels, I was thinking of p slots, renault turbines, etc but I've always wanted centras & never had a 4x100 car to fit them to, they look perfect on anything 80s/early 90s IMO:

cheers buddy I'm absolutely buzzing off it. The colour really suits it. I love seeing it in a car park surrounded by ford focuses & euro boxes.... & then there's this! The phrase time warp was invented for this car.

I actually prefer the black unpainted painted bumpers on 2Gs & was thinking of fitting some (if I can find them of course) but colour coded is growing on me in this colour, looks so clean & with the centra wheels I've got in mind think it'll look just right as is.

Actually got it for £825 it was 950 or best offer.... Was looking for a cheap stop gap while my E36 is off the road & saw this the next day, spoke to the guy, agreed to buy provisionally & picked it up the next day before anyone else could get a sniff 8-)

This will definately be a keeper though, great to drive & actually has a bit of poke when driving around town.

Welcome. Yeah I posted a link to this 2g on the forum when it was listed for sale. Looked lovely 8-)
Glad it's found its way onto the forum with an owner now :D
Not a fan of the wheels you've posted up, but each to their own.

Look forward to seeing the car someday!

Cheers! No worries about the wheels, wasn't expecting much love for them from Honda folk - normally found on golfs & audi b2 / coupe GTs. But I reckon they'll suit anything 80s & boxy!

Try your Honda dealer for the badge (yes, seriously!) You may find it's still available and not too extortionately priced?
