Hello and welcome. I presume the crank was in the correct position?

Welcome to LG!!

Perhaps pull it to bits again, set the timing marks to the correct positions and put the belt back on?

Welcome.
H23A3? That's an unusual engine code. Where are you?

Yep, what they said is the best plan of action now.
Let us know how it goes?

thanx for the welcome guys... yes im n cali northern in fact and yes crank was alligned correctly but i didnt know about marking the timing mark on the 15 b4 tdc.... so we will try that tomorrow and im affraid that we did bend the third intake valve unfortunately :( it sounds like it is a tooth off it wont even idle almost like a vacuum hose was backwards.... i got smooth exhaust sound normally but now wen i hold pedal down it sounds like a scooter... weve taken this thing apart 6 different times now doin different stuff so i think i might just buy a whole new top end and get a turbo while im at it... any input?

also my motor is stamped H23a3 ive looked into it quite a bit... just quick question would i be better off putting a H22a? or keep the same head it has... i dont know the history of the motors miles cuz i got it out of a wrecked 93 lude from a junk yard... all i know is the work ive done to it so far. idk what brand cams and lifters and valves i should get?

H23a3 is this the blue top 2.3 vtec?

worth saving if you can, or maybe you can swap for normal h22a head?

I have supertech valves, my valvetrain snapped one my standard valves but no problems since I fitted the supertech's

think they are made in cali too, skunk2 is the other option

cams I would go with skunk2 stage 2, I have crower stage 2 but might have made more power with the skunks
