3rd gen manual 2.0i 4ws

Post by bees » Sun Aug 07, 2016 7:00 pm

Hi all,
Bought a new project last weekend, you may have seen it listed on eBay. 89 dark blue one from Ross on Wye.
1st rookie question if you can help pls. Fuel pump is not working as the main fuel relay is not working (as per service manual test procedure).
Usual online search takes me to the US.
Where do I get another main (fuel) relay closer/within the uk??

Cheers in advance.

Oh and how do I attach photos?

You might get away with resoldering the one you have.

It look like someone's already done that. Surely you can buy new ones somewhere?
This website is a great resource btw.

before you look to replace the relay have you checked if its had an imobiliser fitted at some point if its been removed check all the wiring is intact also have you tried a 12v feed direct to the pump to check it works.

Yeah cheers, done those checks, pump works with direct feed, and relay doesn't work when manually triggered. Thx for link, 100 buys a new one, not cheap but essentially piece of kit!

Unlikely to find one of those new, after market imo.
Used on eBay or on here would be your best bet.
Any pgmfi powered Honda from the same era (OBD0) should have the same relay I would expect? Civic, Accord etc.

I do have one, but am a bit loathe to sell my only spare, tbh. If you're desperate, I could perhaps be persuaded.
Alternatively, @mercutio?

I had the same problem on my G3. With intermittent starting. New Honda part fitted, now happy days. :D
