Newbie :)

Post by scouse boy » Sun Jul 07, 2013 12:23 pm

Hi guys,

My name is Craig and I joined this forum today. I've had a few jap cars and atm i'm driving a Civic EJ9. I start a new job in Cambridge this month and have decided to treat myself to a new car. I've decided that I will be getting a Prelude 2.2vti Manual (preferably Motegi) - the last shape (unsure if it's 5th gen or not). I'm looking to buy around September time so hence why I've joined now to do some research, keep an eye on the for sale threads and hopefully get to know some of you guys. Any advice on what to look for, prices, etc then feel free to message me.

Anyway, thanks for having me and I look forward to being an active member on here

Craig

Welcome aboard 8-)

You want to go for a year 1999+ manual Prelude, as they have more power than the 1998 model (197bhp instead of 185bhp) and has better ratio'd gearbox. Don't bother getting an auto/ triptronic as they aren't as much fun, have a slower 0-60 and the auto boxes aren't too reliable.

Have a read of this thread, as it has plenty of info about 5th generation Preludes:

Welcome along and good luck finding the lude you want.
There are still plenty of nice 5th around so you shouldn't find it too hard.

It's just called a Type S, its a JDM model. VTI's are UK only models.

The Type S is the most desired Prelude along with the S Spec, they don't come up for sale too often, although 2 have been sold lately.
