And there still is both of those, airbags or not! ;) Although an airbag will hopefully increase your chances of survival, presumably provided that you are the size and weight of a crash test dummy.

On a separate note it's my understanding that if the SRS light is on then the whole system is disabled as it has detected a potential fault... Might be worth bearing in mind if you do leave the connector loose, due to implications for passengers etc.

..but if you do swap the wheel, when you've undone the nut, put it back on a couple of turns so when you whack the steering wheel free from the splines you don't smack yourself in the face with it.

I'm a walking hazard, will probably injure myself somewhere along the line. Plus having rolled a car before this doesn't fill me with confidence :lol:

Woooo..
disconnect the battery then unplug the yellow harness and plug it into the safely harness before removing.

Also ground yourself in metal before touching the wires as you carry static which can set the bag off. You won't but it's not unheard of.
