It's just down to how they fade. I've had three UKDM cars through my hands with the exact same interior and they have all had slightly different colour due to fade. Sometimes it's not even from one side of the car to the other!

I've never understood that sticker. All 3 of our 4th gens say interior Type A, but all 3 are totally different fabric. I think it must refer to the main plastic colours? So the black is Type A and the rare grey is maybe Type B??? Either way, it definitely doesn't match up to fabric.

I think your right wurly sun fade could be why they look different ;)
I will try and find some info on interior colours and codes for preface and facelift
