Re: the wifes EK civic - d16y8 turbo
After a few weeks of waiting the top mount cast iron manifold from Spa-Turbo has arrived
Great quality and will handle more power when we build another block up
Also mentioned before about getting the turbo outlet shaved to fit a silicone reducer for a tighter fit..
First I dipped the reducer in some water based paint
And matched up the the outlet to mark where to shave
And cleaned the reducer
Then out came the grinder
Then out came the sanding attachment.
Like a glove
And with the clamp on the silicone moulds to the imperfect curves on the outlet for a tight seal
Also got the T3 - T25 shortened and welded with the bolts already in place, otherwise it would have been impossible to fit.
It was quite long before, poor design if you ask me.
And now, much slimmer and fitted to the turbo
Still the shorten the bolts a little before I can fit to the manifold so doing that tomorrow and I will get it all fitted to the engine, still need to rotate the housing but I will snap a pic when it on.
And Having the downpipe welded up in the next week or so

Cheers guys, yeah I will be using Spring washers on everything, just took a few shots of it fitted to show, not even got the gasket on in the pic lol.
Got the spring washers on the bolts for the manifold already, and I've still to add them to the v-band adapter too.
Hopefully I can get out today and get started on the downpipe

Shortened the bolts for the manifold and test fitted with the help of the kids
Also chopped up the downpipe and fired the top part on.
Need to source a bit of 2.5" pipe & mark up where everything needs welded.

Thanks dude
Yep that was the plan with the downpipe. Because it's getting welded by a friend who's been welding fences and gates for 30 years the welds won't be visually appealing, so heatwrap was the plan
