Re: Rattys T5.1 Chipsaway workhorse
Look what turned up today.
Jim at Alonze Custom Fabricators is the man responsible. Very highly regarded on the VWt5 forum (yes i cheat on Lg with other forums)
So they are now 17x9 on the front and 17x9.5 on the rear. Welds are very neat. They weight just under 20kg EACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But they are propperly load rated for a t26 t5 at 750kg per corner
They are in the primer stage at the moment but spraying them a silver/blue pearlescent soon. Basically a very fine bright silver usually found on audi wheels.
Also picking up my new tailgate from Bristol on friday.

Banded steels sprayed up.
Used colour code Audi - Alu Matt code LAP6.
This is actually use on the Auti trim and wing mirrors on the RS and TT models and is meant to have a matt clearcoat but i use this on the Audi wheels as its a very bright silver and looks great glossed up. It consists of fine bright aluminium and fine pearl blue.
Looks like polished aluminium in person. I LOVE IT.
Coilovers are going on in the next 3 weeks and i need to respray my new tailgate.
Going with CMC coilovers instead of the Bilsteins. Purely because the CMCs go lower and are half the price at £500.
