Re: Civic EK4 Saloon - Daily
I said I wasn't going to spend any money on the daily but I couldn't resist it when Mugen exhaust came up for sale for only £100.

Re: Civic EK4 Saloon - Daily
There are couple of problems with the Civic at the moment, so the daily as become a driveway ornament for 2 days now.
I think the rear (driver side) calliper is seized. The disc feels rough and as I drive around there is a screeching sound from there, and as I brake it gets loud/worse..
Going to the garage today to see what they could do for me and how bad it is..
Intially, I was thinking of going for the 5 Stud conversion (from an EK9 or a DC2) but then I totted up the total cost and it was around £800ish so I am now leaving that thought now and just getting it fixed to OEM spec.
Any ideas how much would it cost to get that fixed? .

Re: Civic EK4 Saloon - Daily
It's getting sorted as we speak. Turns out it was the pads and discs that were worn beyond the beyond ( ).
James, who I've known for ages has come to help out and is sorting it out tomorrow.
And I agree with you Wurly, for that £800 I could just some goodies fitted to the Type-S and maybe attend some shows.

Re: Civic EK4 Saloon - Daily
Right now I need some help and input from you guys.
Mrs has got her license now and as she's young/inexperience the insurance company wants an extra £300 a month to just add her name to this car on my policy.
She wants to drive and use the car (socially for going mums house and shopping etc). So will be on the look out for another car roughly £1000-1500 that's ok for insurance for her. I will get my name on that policy and have my Type-S on my own policy too
All the insurance quotes on serval cars I saw are coming up £3K. And we don't want to get one of those wanker new cars with free insurance (I think you end up paying more in the long run etc etc)
What you guy recommend? New cheaper car with cheap insurance or get a brand new one with free insurance..
Hope that made sense ^
