 but its so quiet i didnt even think it would be a chain

Ive cleaned it inside and out (first of many cleans it will need)

couple of problems:

sticking boot handle so boot sometime doesnt close - could be linked to water in tyre welll in boot

ive read online about roof drains and rear door membrane as possible causes - but this one has a sunroof so thats probably best place to start.

interior needs a shampoo and stain removal

was told that the brakes need attention - but it stops well enough and with no noises or pulling - so will have to get a 2nd opinion
also told it needed "an engine part" but couldnt get any more info than that :?
it does seem to be hesitating at certain revs in but other than that it starts on the button and the engine idles perfectly

Mot is up on 26th so have some time to look into these issues :)

re: boot water ingress. Could be blocked sunroof drain tubes. If similar layout to a 3g, take the boot inner side plastic panels out to access tubes and check for blockages.

Nick, water ingress is almost certainly the seam sealer splitting under the black strip on the roof on the drivers side. Common fault. Is the eml on?

yes cracked seam sealer it is - ive had a look and i can see someone has had a got at fixing this already :? looks like i will have to get this fixed asap.
no eml or any warning lights
ive just been for a run to larbert and back and car goes exceptionally well
@newkid was following along behind me and said there is no back box there - i didnt pick up on that when i bought it  still that should only be around £40 for a new one so an easy fix - and i reckon thats all it will need to get it through the MOT :)

Cheers Si :)
just found a safety recall letter from Honda in amongst the paperwork that came with the car.
spoke to the service department at Honda and its to go in on the 27th for new passenger airbag and new drivers window switch - fortunately for me Honda will be paying for this work 8-)

some pics of it after a couple of cleans on the exterior
its going to have to get a shampoo to the interior as some of the stains on the seats and carpets are plain nasty :puke:

im hoping it doesnt need much for its mot and that saving this from the scapyard was a good move :P

looks straight with only a little bit of damage to the front bumper below the passenger side front headlight and there is a repair to the drivers side rear door...more worryingly (you cant see these in the photos) there is lots of little hand prints on the car bodywork- possibly from sunscreen - might be tricky if not impossible to remove them.

Yep, you go on telling yourself that's what they're from... ;)

;)

Great little car though.
:? mad to think of a 52 plate Jazz being considered as 'old' and 'fit for the scrappie' though - cars are such disposable/short life items these days... :old:

no its definately kids handprints - probably sunscreen on and chasing each other round the car on a hot sunny day - you can see the prints clearly in direct sunlight :x

nice wee dog though :)
