5th gen sunroof - wont open :(

Hi fellow luders.

Has anyone had any problems with their 5th gen sunroof not opening? I push the switch and hear the motors clicking? Any ideas on how to diagnose this?

Recently when opening the sunroof or moonroof as iv heard it called it would judder slightly. I then release the switch then hit it again for a smoother open. But now it dont open what so ever.

maybe use your hand to help it whilst pressing the button, if you get it open I would advise greasing the sliders as mine came to a near stop before I did this, now its moves without any problems

You can try manually winding it too, to see if that shifts it and then go from there with cleaning/lubing the sliders.

I had the same problem with mine a good tap on the glass from inside while pressing button should help just needs a good smack so it behaves
