Direction - Reverse
Conditions - Intermittent rain

Round 4 of SLS began dry however the track was cool and did not offer as much grip as I thought was available. So for the first time ever I ended up in the gravel after a massive lockup going into the most difficult corner for reverse direction. The vid of it is in the Slide, Slap and Slip vid at the end of my round 5 post.

Surprisingly there was no damage, other than to my confidence, and the splitter help up well. I took on-board a shitton of gravel though. The marshal and I managed to get a lot out but the bumper needed to come off to get the last of it out.
For qualifying it rained as we were lining up to go out on track so everyone was stuck on normal/semi-slicks. Qualifying is 2 x 2 hot laps. On my first of two runs there was a spinner in front of me which compromised my laps which left me with only two hot laps to get a time. I used the first hot lap as a sighter, just to see where grip was and how the car behaved, then used the final flying lap to go for it and set my time. Putting the power down on the exit of corners was an issue, with me either wheel spinning or washing out wide. I managed to put myself in 2nd place.

When it came to the final we could all see that rain was once again on the way but the majority of us remained on normal/semi-slicks in the blind hope that we could get out before it rained. Since McEleny and I had qualified 1st and 2nd respectively, we were at the back of line to do our final runs. Before we could go out a car needed to be recovered so the session was red flagged, during which it rained

A big disappointment but that is motorsport
