I could have taken the one out of my 5th gen but just got off the phone with Honda. £75 is the full price for a battery, after a bit of sweet talking I got it down to £53 as the parts guy knows me quite well now

The only real problem we had was that where the shorter of the two hoses wanted to naturally go was where the rad expansion tank was sitting. 3rdGenSteve had the great idea of using the heat gun to reshape the bottle. The oil cooler hose now sits next to it with enough room 8-)

Nice delicate work on the expansion tank!

So the new oil cooler sits on the back of the existing oil cooler? Why kept the original one?

The oil cooler sandwich plate is designed to be installed over the top of the OEM cooler. I don't know how I would have replaced the OEM oil cooler centre bolt, a bit too much of the unknown for me :D The OEM cooler does no harm sitting there and can cool the oil as much as it wants. The thermostat in the sandwich plate opens when the oil hits 80C.

and i heard that you need fill oil radiator with oil before connected it. As you do want to loose oil pressure when thermostatic sandwich plate opens.

I heard that too but it is almost impossible due to the way my one is installed. My plan is to to slightly over fill the oil and keep an eye on it for when it gets to operating temp, then put more oil in. I need to bleed the coolant anyway so I will have to let the car come up to temp. Hopefully the oil will get hotter than 80C.

The oil cooler and hoses hold just under a litre of oil. I am sure the difference between the min and max on the dip stick is a litre so hopefully there is no chance of any damage being done. I have an oil pressure gauge that I will keep an eye on.

I bought from a shop called Matt Lewis Racing as it was the cheapest place I could find.
