There's a leaking roof thread on s2ki.co.uk that covers a lot of the common causes and fixes.h10ndr wrote:Seems like the clutch MC or slaves go quite a lot on s2k, so I'm gunna get it bled first and checked for leaks after Tues when I get paid. Welcome to the s2000 club.
I had trouble with my clutch when I first got it. The pedal was really stiff and hard to engage the gears.
Turned out to be the slave cylinder push rod had a nipple on the end of the ball. Sanded down and re-greased, much smoother now. Might be worth a look.
Do you have any leaks not from the roof but from the seams? Mine seems to like to drip water in the car at the A pillar when I brake, and on the passenger side at the seal joint half way. I lubed the seals up with silicon grease hoping it would form a waterproof seal, but made no difference?
Mine leaks from the seal join. Well not at the moment as the hard top is back on.

I have purchased some new elastic straps in the hope it pulls the roof a bit tighter and seals closer together.

Prelude history: black bb4, silver bb4, green bb8, project eX, JRSC 5th gen Motegi.
Current rides: Honda s2000 GT & Honda Accord type R Honda Civic FD2 Type R !!

Hi H10ndr, ok mate here's the deal. I'm in love with that there delicious automobile of yours and wish to propose the following. Straight swap. One slightly used Malaysian-Chinese girlfriend, very nice bodywork, (no spare tyre), relatively low mileage for the year, good on short runs and also goes the distance without complaint or fuss. Appreciating in value and is a fine conversation piece when you take her to your local. Great in the kitchen, (oooeeer missis) and speaks the lingo well. As a fellow Yorkshireman you will also appreciate her somewhat mangled God's County slang.
Yes, I'm afraid it's something I always knew would happen, I'm a bloke for heaven's sake! My eyes fell on your pictured model and suddenly I had to make a choice. Linda or your Prelude and unfortunately Linda lost out.
She's all your mate - I can deliver her, gift wrapped if necessary, around Christmas time to your place and you can give me the keys.
Think about it mate, a babe from the mystic East could be yours in exchange for that lovely motor.
Let me know mate and I can pack her bags pronto.
Best regards
Simon.

I've used some silicon grease on the rubbers where the joins are and it helped a bit for a few days. I have read all the s2ki leaking roof posts so have other ideas to try. Mine seems to let water sit/collect in the rubbers and when you brake it drips out of the joints (similar to loads on s2ki). Gunna try the fish tank tube trick on the hooks of the roof clips next...and waterproof the roof...its not been treated in the last 3 or more years and soaks up all the rain.JDM-BB4 wrote:There's a leaking roof thread on s2ki.co.uk that covers a lot of the common causes and fixes.h10ndr wrote:Seems like the clutch MC or slaves go quite a lot on s2k, so I'm gunna get it bled first and checked for leaks after Tues when I get paid. I also got the clutch re-bled on Sat, and after a quick 5min drive (before the storm) it seems to have helped. I will know tomorrow when I drive to work if its fixed.
