Yea I think it's the thermostat, I've been looking all over the net and I've come to that conclusion, I want to order a new one but I don't want to get the wrong one, had awful trouble with the calipers for mine, where would I get the number for the part

You can get them from eurocarparts no problem (order using your reg number), just checked using my reg number (4th gen but probably the same thermostat) and not in stock in your area though.
Nearest place to you that I know of that might have one in stock is mac automotive in Ilford (Ilford High Road in Seven Kings). I used to use them when I worked in that area and they were brilliant.

It depends on where you bridged the connection, when I had troubles it was my relay and my thermo switch ( relay is under hood fuse box).Turbomick1985 wrote:I've taking off the switch for the fans off the thermostat and stuck some copper wire in there turned on the ignition and both fans came on, so I'm guessing the relay is ok and the fans are ok, I'm guessing it's the thermostat or the switch, I think I can take off the switch but I don't know what to look for to know if its knackers, i put a thread asking for anyone who knows a mechanic or is mechanically inclined a few weeks ago but no takers
Also take you rad cap off run car until it starts warming up, make sure you give it a rev with the cap off, you should see some water jump out of the top of the rad. This will tell you if your water pump is working and should help shift any trapped air. Top up onec you are done.

I followed the bottom rad hose back and I took the connector out and bridged it ther and both fans came on, I pulled out the relay but I not know how to check if its bad should I order I new one anyway? I've ordered a new thermostat il order a new switch and relay as well so, I'm goin to attempt the work myself which should be funny, I'm working with a lad from back home who's a massive honda head so I will ask him to help me
