Crank shaft change

Post by Msjm6747 » Mon Jun 23, 2014 11:38 am

I have a 5 th gen lude and the crank shaft key has snapped inside the shaft and trying to get it out I have messed the end of the shaft up
Just wondered what's involved with replacing the crank shaft ?
I'm assuming its engine strip down cam belts changed and all that
Just wanted to check I case I'm wrong
Thanks in advance

If I get a crank its still all the time stripping the engine down and having the cambelt and everything done, going to cost me a small fortune and I haven't got the time to fiddle with it myself.
I can get an engine fitted for £300 but I just need to find the engine.

What brake are the H22a engines ?

Okay so what's the difference from my a8 to h22a?
I can get hold of an h22 a5 engine
Will this go into mine as a straight swap onto my gearbox ?
