I just looked into prices of axle stands recently.
The cheapest place for new axle stands available 'off the shelf' (i.e. in a desperate rush :whistle: :evil: ) is;
  • Your local 'motorworld' franchised parts shop (if you have one?)
    B&Q
    Halfords
(in that order)
The prices then go silly after that for screwfix, toolstation etc. :roll:

Yes - I was amazed that Halfords were actually relatively cheap for these things!!!

just to close this out- leak was traced to one of the coolant pipes which goes from the back of the block to the oil cooler - there was a small split just where the hose clip was - this meant it was very difficult to find as it only opened up and leaked once the engine was hot and was dropping onto the manifold and being evaporated almost instantly.The coolant came out pretty rapidly so bearing that in mind and looking at the split in the pipe i reckon that was a very close call :P anyway ive ordered up a new one from Honda which will be here on Saturday - i was also looking to order the other small pipe that goes to the oil cooler as it looks like it needs replaced as well but Honda said none in Europe and it is on back order with Honda in Japan :cry:
Thanks again to @3rd gen steve who has put a temporary fix in place for me earlier today:)
