Fuel Line Material

Post by jjmartin349571 » Wed Jan 28, 2015 9:31 pm

Hi folks,

I'm making up some fuel lines for my Golf currently, I bought copper fuel line and have been bending it in to lines to suit the new fuel injection set up. However, I've got a couple of questions - firstly, is copper pipe ideally suited to the exposed position of the lines on the Golf:

And also, as I need more material is it ok to use stuff such as this from B&Q? The pipe I initially bought was from eBay and mainly just so I could get some practice cutting and bending it, and as it was dubbed 'fuel line' it's a bit more expensive than the hardware store variety. I have my doubts as to whether there's much difference, but I also have no intention of becoming a hurtling fireball any time soon so thought it was worth an ask first :)

Cheers,
Josh

Was it straight copper pipe you bought on ebay, or cunifer?

Then buying that stuff from B&Q will probably be no difference, just check the wall thickness is the same.

Normally cunifer is used for fuel and brake lines, because it's much more resistant to corrosion.
