Random question with B series

Post by MaccaIRL » Tue Feb 02, 2016 10:39 am

Hey guys

Can I use a B series turbo kit on the h22?
Obviously the manifold is out but if I get it for a decent price is the rest still use able?

Intercooler
Turbo
Most pipe work
Ecu and map

Will all these fit and run okay? Would be driving around 15 miles with stuff put on before mapping

intercoolers are pretty standard, Pipework depends on size i suppose ecu well you can use p28's or p30's in Ludes but the map will need changing. Turbo if its big enough for the HP remember the H22 starts at 200bhp give or take. the B18 i dont know what that starts at or whether the turbo/compressor map is suited worth a try though

Was a b18c4 so the 170bhp engine from mb6

My prelude is the 185 UK spec so thought they're not too far apart

Find out what turbo it is. Chances are it will be fine for low boost.

Ended up going for a drive in the gfs new car

Bought a mk1 Leon cupra (180bhp) and thing has had a little engine work done and is lethal quick lol

So just sold my spare head and inlet manifold... probably gonna just tune prelude and leave it there.
Cupra cost her a grand and it eats and jobbies type r civics and all sorts lol. I had a go against her and me on full tec was losing around a car length a second ffs haha

Until you get a corner and the tides are turned. My brother in law has a mk4 golf with 350bhp and 400 torques. Very quick but jobby gearbox, handles like a go kart on ice running ky jelly infused tyres and that's on coilovers and poly bushes.
Then it's gearbox broke.

That would have to be impressive engine work (or boost just wound up quite a bit) to be that much quicker, considering the standard car 0-60 times are identical.
