I reckon that's been cracked during previous fitment, from cross threaded bolt, too long bolt, left hanging on one bolt with others undone, or something like that.
Just fitting ES polybushes wouldn't do that.

Show us some good pics of the fracture break. You can tell from that, what had failed when (provided it hasn't got covered in crap or been cleaned off sometime since...) :)

You could probably liquid metal it back together, but wouldn't last. New box casing needed really TBH.

^^ I also think any problem will be due to poor re-installation from its last clutch change. ES inserts are not rigid enough to cause any issues when mixed with OEM mounts. IMO ES inserts are only good enough to sure up a fooked OEM mount, they do nothing for overall rigidity.

Doggo was at Steve's garage at the weekend and while his car was up on the I took the opportunity to grab some pics of the engine/gearbox mount bracket on the car.

You can see on this pic from the net that there are 4 bolts bracing the gearbox and engine (see the bolt marks). The bottom 3 are the ones we have been talking about but the 4th bolt (the top one) goes through a hole in the engine and bolts in to the bell housing of the gearbox.
