Engine does dramatic BS when driving along!

I haven't noticed the dash lights go off. Been trying to get it to do it again, to get more information but not happened again yet.. I'm sure it will at some point today.
The battery is quite loose and the cables are too. Will put a standered battery in today and make sure connections are good. Might put new earths on and clean areas up.

So I found the main negative cable was broken not fixed to the engine.
I'm no expert but that's a bit negative :lol:

Which cable? Thermostat, gearbox or rocker cover?
