What parts from h23a1 fit h22a#??

Post by JEBB4 » Wed Aug 03, 2016 4:45 am

Right so parts for these things are expensive over here compared to the UK and I want to do a vtec swap in my bb2 h23 but keep costs down by using as much of what I already have...

Will the power steering pump, alternator, starter, a/c compressor (not essential) of a h23 fit h22?

I searched the web and found the inlets are the same and the exhaust mani and d pipe as well as the distributor are
different.. Aparantly the dizzy can be made to work though??

Any input muchly appreciated :)

Hello man, the dizzy is identical - they can be swapped straight over H23 to H22. The PS pump is also identical, but to use the alt etc you may need to swap the crank pulley from the H23 onto the H22 as I'm sure number of ribs on the belt is different. Gearboxes are interchangeable, and the starters are too. The H23 also got the larger brakes as per the VTEC, unlike the F22 which got the F20 brakes.

Thanks @indigolemon :)

I see there are internal and external coiled dizzys my h23a1 has an external coil for sure, and my JDM h22a back home definitely has an internal coil
Can't see this being an issue if the plugs off the loom is same though...

Also I think my bb2 has got the 262mm brakes up front and my BB4 has the 282's, I think thats an AUDM thing though..

Glad I can use so much, should make things much cheaper :P

also the inlet manifold from the H23 will not fit the H22 and the injectors are smaller afaik. Dizzy will swap over engine wiring loom will fit but you will need to wire in the vtec the wiring should be there in the in the main loom inside the car unless the audm stuff is different

Water pump is different (pulley is different diameter and number of teeth) which is why h23 manual tensioner conversion is so damn tight on an h22 :ugeek:
