About ATR exhaust manifold

Post by hondaddict » Sat May 06, 2017 3:02 pm

Hi everybody! :D

It's me again with my silly questions  , a friend of mine want to install an ATR upper section exhaust manifold onto his 5th Gen Prelude H22.

Could anybody says me if it is possible or if there is required modifications?

To be more clear, he want to keep the lower section of his Prelude manifold and bolt on it the ATR upper manifold section.

Thanks a lot for your help! :D

Does he know the atr manifold is sleeved, or double skinned and not as wide internal pipe as it looks?

Yes he knows :D

He also knows that bigger is not always better for the exhaust manifold but it seems to be a good upgrade for any H22 ;)

I thought I read somewhere that the lengths are different. If so, your friend might need to change the downpipe as well.

Thanks a lot Craig_85 , sorry if i seems "dumb" , English is not my native language as i'm french, so sometimes it is difficult for me to understand what is written.

It is for that reason i'm looking for somebody who have done the same thing, in way of asking directly all the questions i may have . :D

Thanks a lot Sailor :D , i tell him to also change the downpipe but actually he didn't find one for sale in France :(

IIRC correctly, ATR manifold and prelude downpipe don't bolt up together - flanges are different

The OEM downpipe (and manifold to a certain extent) are both quite restrictive and often upgraded to aftermarket. I don't know how much of an improvement over the Prelude manifold it offer though.
