Brian crower has the bad reputation for snapped cam shafts
crower is fine, in retrospect I should have probably gone with skunk2 cams
crower came up cheap 2nd hand, good torque and no problems,
but would have probably made more peak BHP with the skunk cams.
upgrade the whole valvetrain would be my advice, I snapped a standard valve...
I would also go stage 2, stage 1 would probably not satisfy you
you also wanna look at skunk2 intake and port matched throttle body, but be prepared to hold the idle on cold start

thanks that helps a lot.
Well the Skunk2 Tunner Stage 1 was my intention because i didnt have to upgrade the Valvetrain.
But will see if i go with the Skunk2 Pro Stage 1, do to i dont know if it will fit correctly with the H22A Compression ratio because the Bottom End i will not upgrade.

I have a full skunk 2 head that's been ported and polished might be for sale but would be expensive

I had the lower compression h22a5 for a while until I upgraded to type-r pistons
it was still improved, to 222bhp, but I did use slightly more petrol with the lower compression
after the fitting the type-r pistons it went up to 244bhp
while your in the head be good idea to fit new valve seals, decoke.

Well my idea is to put the S-Spec/Type S piston in the future to the bottom end, but that will be after i finish with my 5th gen.Lude-dude wrote:I had the lower compression h22a5 for a while until I upgraded to type-r pistons

for now i will just make sure to have my 4th gen well basicly

i will make sure to put new Valve Guide from Supertech with Valve Seals and the Supertech Valves.
and for the Cams still will be checking if i go with the Skunk2 Tunner or Pro or go OEM with the S-spec Cams that i have from my 5th gen

that is also i good idea because i have the S-spec Cams from my 5th gen here, but dont know if the Valve Train will be fine with those cams or if i have to make any change to spring
