Exhaust manifold cover ?

Not sure what that manifold is, but the wrapping looks to have been well done. Shouldn't be any heat loss through that, tbh.

It shouldn't harm the paint and if it is an aftermarket manifold it will not have the fixing points for the OEM shield.
