Lo All :D
I got my cambelt changed when I bought my Lude in 2008 with 15K on it.
First change so a 11 year old belt
I didn't get the water pump done and now I have 86k on my Lude.
So I guess that means I should change my cambelt and water pump then :?:
Cheers all ;)

1998 5th Gen 2.2 vti

So advice to date and post searching suggest change cam and balance shaft belt at same time.

Are "we" also recommending changing the water pump?

Anything else?

At the moment my local Honda dealer is quoting me, they have been very good to date an will fit parts I find if their parts prices are steep! Because I have 3 Hondas (2 Preludes) they tend to look after me!

But I need to be specific as to what I want done. They say they have a technician who is experienced with Preludes and so far so good!

I would get both belts done, new auto tensioner and new water pump. While I was in there I would get the balance shaft retainer bracket (06923-POA-306) added.

Ok got it!

Best place to get these parts so I can check against Honda service quotes?

Last question on this I hope and thanks everybody!

Bugger! I had mine done in 2004 and have done 6,000 miles. Bloody interference engines!

I take something for it.

well i dont no what engines everyone has and are doing your cambelts on but the way i sourced my parts for my 2.3 was a bit of internet research to find part numbers of the bits i needed and brought them via part numbers rather then vehicle specific kits , my cambelt and balance belts are gates , tensioner bearings are koyo , water pump is ap lockheed , auxiliary belts are blue print all these parts where just under £86 i could of saved more as i found some parts cheaper once i had already brought them

Yeah you can get the belts and tensioners pretty cheap by searching around.
The water pumps aren't so easy to get cheap. I ended up buying one from (randomely enough) an industrial cooling specialist. They didn't sell automotive bits in general, so I asusme they just happened to use the H22 pump on something completely different
I can't remember where it was. now...
