Gearbox interchangeability?

yer i think i might have to, i would love to do the manual swap and its what im wanting to do but... her indoors is thinking i get a cheap auto box to keep her going and do a manual swap further down the line, now if i am to keep auto for the interim i dont wanna loose my tiptronic control.

ziyaan has a good working tiptronic box, @dbo knows where there's a 4th gen being broken around soton that could be a manual donor?
