Right I've had more news about this....
The guy says all of the fuses are fine, doesn't think the fuel pump is going, the starter will he says "spin" when fed live with a probe, not sure if he means it's engaging...
Also the I mobiliser light is just flashing all the time which indicates it's not recognising the key
Still no dash lights, but headlights work and not even a click from the starter off the key...
Soooo, does anyone know of an immobiliser bypass procedure? I understand if people may not want to share this info publicly to obviously not broadcast it to thieves so please P.M me this info if you want (I'm no thief
)
Cheers

Ah... immobiliser not responding would probably explain no dashboard lights then - they tend to interrupt that part of the ignition feed as the way of immobilising the engine.
The only way of bypassing an immobiliser is to find out where it's spliced into the loom under the dash and remove it/re-link the original wires.
Is this an aftermarket combined immobiliser/alarm? Sometimes with those things, putting the key in, turning to ignition position and then pressing the alarm lock/unlock button will get the immobiliser to wake up and play ball.

well its a 4g so you are on a winner as wurly says find out where its wired in or get your mate to do himself a favour and ask an auto electrician or an alarm installer to remove it
if it was a 5g then your looking at a new ecu/keys

Well there's no alarm on it and no aftermarket fob so I thought it was just a factory immobiliser.. Did the 4g come with one? It has a button on the original Honda key and a lil red LED on the dash to indicate the immobiliser is de activated but that's just flashing which means it's immobilised....
Might have to be a case of rewiring it then..

If it's this kind of original key;

(Pic stolen from the internet) then the button on the key is for the remote unlocking.
It doesn't have an immobiliser built into it.
There was a Honda access alarm/immobiliser available. No idea how that was operated though.
Have you got/can you get any pics of the key, immobiliser light etc.

That is the key I have got Wurly.. Ok so the button doesn't do anything on mine so remote locking doesn't work.. Now I know there's a chip in the key and its possible it isn't getting recognised by the ECU...
The lil red light is just a little LED on the top of the steering column shroud behind the steering wheel...
It used to flash when the key was out then would stay on briefly and go off when the car was running... I think it's a case of it not recognising the key.. Might try get it re coded..

JDM 4th gens certainly dont have factory fitted immobilisers. I have a spare key that I got made, it's just a regular key.
If you are ok with wires and a solder iron you can do it yourself. It took me about an hour to get my alarm/immodiliser out. One of the best things I ever did! The only major thing that is needed to be done is to re-join the big thick white ignition cable that is in the steering column.mercutio wrote:ask an auto electrician or an alarm installer to remove it
