Completely agree with all of the above.

Going back a few posts, as Merlin said there are clutched pulley superchargers from various models of Mercedes engines but not the JRSC kit. This can be very simply wired up to a switch yes.

You could certainly use one for a custom build (see the link in the build thread I referred to) but that guy had to flip the charger round due to the rotation of our engines. Some superchargers you can take apart and turn the rotors around so its 'pushing' the air in the right direction and then you can mount it where the A/C is - again like the guy did in the link on a B series engine Civic.

Nothings impossible, but it all depends on how much money you want to spend and whether you want bolt on or custom / willing to get stuck in.

Most are actually not clutched and use a bypass valve to keep air flowing / circulating boost on cruising, etc.

Tell me one thing, you got a supercharger on switch idea from Mad max, haven't you :D. That one was fake
....maybe lol

My mechanic said he could make it on a switch to keep a decent amount of mpg but i think turbo is deffo the way forward

Now to source a cheap turbo kit lol

Seen a few on ebay from america but the turbo seems to be its downfall

If you are buying new, just a good turbo will cost around 700 pounds, nothing else included. I wouldn't buy that if I were you.

Yeah that is a cheap nasty ebay 'special' if ever I saw one.

Treadstone is actually deemed one of the cheaper packages for a something a little more well put together.

If you're after a cheap boosted engine it doesn't really exist. :?

Probably easier to do a turbo set up with 'switchon/offable' boost (using an electronic wastegate) than a SC?

The JRSC kit does have a switch for on and off. It's called a.....accelerator pedal. Push it = supercharger on, hold it steady or release = supercharger off.

440cc injectors for 250-300bhp absolutely.

I personally think supercharging is safer than a turbo. Turbos have wastegates which can overboost and cause lean conditions and blow rings. Also they pressuize and compress the air in the engine Which can stain.
Roots blower superchargers cannot physically overboost and the boost it very linear and air is not compressed but forced into the engine at high speed thus most of the pressure is located inside the intake manifold itself. Downsides are Huge intake temperatures which can be cured by chargecooling or easier water/meth injection and reworked inlet and outlets of the supercharger.

Mine is currently undergoing a rework to make it way more efficient and reliable and maintain low 6psi boost Still.
