Ah....

Yep, not so many members on here that could pop round to give you a hand unfortunately!

Distributor and check the earth on the fuel pump?

Might have been asked before, but... When you drop the key out of start and back to ignition, do the dash lights flicker off?

Hmm not sure what you mean.

Fuel pump runs, I've removed the back seats and the inspection cover so I can hear it. I hear it prime, then when I wind the starter and stop, I hear it run for a second or so.

Ok so the earth is ok.
Well then distributor next thing to try swapping, as already suggested.

Did you also check the plug connections on the main relay are clean/tight etc so you can be sure they are making good contact?

Yes plug connections seem ok, and I checked the continuity between there and the ecu, and that it was doing the right things, per the instructions in the manual.

Guess I'll have to get hold of a distributor to swap over. Could it still be that if I'm getting sparks?

I know where there's a disused Prelude, in the back of a garage, I'll try borrow the dizzy from there!

Still no joy here. I haven't swapped the dizzy but I don't think it's that since I have good strong sparks.

Tested the injector resistor yesterday, all ok. Checked voltages on the injectors, all ok.

I'm leaning towards contaminated fuel now. Next plan is to drain the tank and flush some new petrol through, and maybe replace the fuel filter.

You may have a spark, but it is coming at the right time and with the right amount of energy?

Do you have any H22 friends who could lend you a dizzy for a test fire?

Precious few 4Gs around here! But I know where's there's one in the back of a mechanic's workshop, abandoned. So I might approach him!

The dizzy has a built in crank position sensor which might be faulty. So it cannot get ignition timing right.

Car's fixed.

Distributor.

Probably the crank position sensor, are these internal parts available?
