Accord Type R Header in Prelude

Post by Racerguy » Thu Jan 28, 2016 4:12 am

I have a 1995 prelude and just ordered an h22a7 accord type r header from the UK (I'm in the us). I was wondering what type of modifications I would have to make to my h22a jdm downpipe to be able to be used in my 4th generation prelude. From the little information I have found on these, the downpipe I have would be to long to be used in combination with the accord type r header. Appearantly nobody in the US knows anything about these headers and there is very little information to be found on them. Thanks in advance

Just to clarify...
When you say you've bought a header, do you mean both manifold and downpipe, or just the manifold?
(We would normally refer to a 'header' as being both)

The runners are actually are bigger in diameter. And the upper section itself is a little longer. Only reason I didn't go aftermarket is because my racing sanction rules state oem parts only

The ATR exhaust manifold is apparently double skinned. While the outer skin is bigger then the Prelude's, the inner is not much bigger.

Correct. Whilst perfectly functional I certainly wouldn't class it as an upgrade over the OEM item...
