H22A7 swap into UK BB1. Want to keep cruise control

Post by Jack » Mon Feb 29, 2016 12:15 am

After the original H22A2 threw its cambelt last year, I've bought a donor ATR and am currently in the process of swapping the A7 into my Prelude.

I want to keep the cruise control, how should I go about this?

I obviously wanna use the ATR inlet manifold etc. It's been suggested that the easiest way to keep the cruise would be to use the Prelude throttle body. Obviously this isn't ideal as it's smaller so will lose power. Can I modify the ATR throttle body to accept the cable from the cruise control module?

Also, what's the score with ECUs and cruise control? Does the ECU need to be aware of the cruise control or does the cruise operate independently? As I was just gonna run it off a socketed P28 with a custom map.

Anyone whos running an A7 with cruise, advice would be much appreciated!

Cruise is a separate ecu, so you shouldn't have a problem there.
The cruise control cable goes all the way back to the accelerator pedal rather than the throttle body, so no problem there either.
8-)
