Oil smell

Post by alinton » Sat Mar 12, 2016 12:59 am

I'm smelling burning oil these past few days, I had a brief look underneath and I think oil is leaking onto the exhaust somewhere towards the rear of the engine.

Can someone suggest where I might look, or where the source might be?

Rocker cover. Oil cooler o ring. Oil pressure switch. Cam seal. Sump. Could be any. Engines are getting old now and some will need work doing to them.

I had same problem,Turned out to be my rocket cover gasket so get youtself the full gasket kit.

might be worth replacing your oil cooler o ring aswell £3 from Honda as that's another common leak that drips onto your exhaust :)

Oil cooler ring is the prime candidate for leaking onto the exhaust..

Some people say to but 2 as it is quite easy to pinch when installing resulting in oil peeing out again.
They're cheap through Honda, even down here!
