plan is to fit the fgk manifold to my 4th gen BB1
i got it second hand and have cleaned it up which meant removing all the old heatwrap - yuck
got a few little mods to do to it and then onto wrapping it i guess
question is heatwrap or not? what the thoughts
not that keen on the look of heatwrap - even the oem heatshieild would look better imo
but if it helps then maybe thats the way to go.... it only for a daily with no track use planned
whats the best stuff to go for without breaking the bank and are there any newer alternatives or something i havent thought of
polishing up the old fgk mani would be nigh on impossible i think..
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Heat Wrap (yes or no) fgk manifold
Even if it won't polish, is it clean enough to paint? If not, I'd fit the heatshield.

Heat Wrap (yes or no) fgk manifold
up to you, whether you wrap it or not it's going to make incredibly little difference, especially on an n/a car - i wrapped mine cos it was off at the time and i liked the look

Heat Wrap (yes or no) fgk manifold
I haven't wrapped the FGK manifold in my ludes, but... the engine bay and alternator definitely do get hotter than they did with the oem manifold and heat shield.
Personally, I would advise heat-wrapping it, if you can. If not, as a minimum, install some kind of heat-shield between the manifold and the alternator (allowing an air gap at the rear of the alternator)
