Oil cooler seal replacement

Post by wurlycorner » Thu May 30, 2013 11:24 am

I think this is leaking on the JDM

@vtecmec
Your photo's and guide here is excellent thanks but one question please;
Did you manage to remove/replace the oil cooler seal with it in situ (i.e. still connected to the coolant lines on the back of the block).

Result - cheers newkid.
I think this is leaking on the JDM, so gonna have to tackle this job.
It's not too long at all since it's had an oil change, so I'm contemplating trying it without draining the oil first :scaredtoss:

Yes, the cooler pipes stayed in place so no messing with coolant etc. Though it was easier for me as I had no exhaust or support bars in the way.

just be careful i managed to mess up that job twice and got covered in oil from head to foot - its a 5 minute job for a garage to do. I found it very difficult to see what i was doing and to get the o ring to stay in place. I eventually took it to a garage and they charged me £20 for fitting it. Wish i had done that in the first place as i wasted about £40 on oil :x

I am adding this to my every growing list of bits to do on the 5th. Especially when the seal is only £3-4 from Honda.
