Fluttering noise
Fluttering noise
hi guys, im after sum more advice for trying to sort out my problem prelude.
please note i am a total novice and have very limited technical/mechanical knowledge so your help is much appreciated.
i have a 2.2 vti redtop 2000 plate and i seem to have come accross another issue. when i accelerate the car doesnt pull smoothly. it sort of judders and the noise from the exhaust flutters. there are no warning lights on the dash and its mostly noticable in 4th and 5th gear and is very noticable when accelerating over 50mph. I may be paranoid but i would say it seems to have less power too, but it could just be me? any ideas?
oh i thought i would just say that VTEC still cuts in normally but like i said, it seems possibly to lack as much power
thanx!!!!

im not sure where the noise originates because its only really noticable when im doing over 50 in fourth or fifth. like i said, the car actualy judders when is makes the noise, the only way to explain how it feels is to say its like im wheel spinning because it doesnt pull smoothly. with the dizzy wot would cause this problem? a problem with the brushes or sumthink???

ok you say at 50 is it when accelerating or when cruising at 50 could it be wheel balance cv joints ie chassis or is it engine revs if so could be a bad earth or a weak dizzy/battery

its definately when i accelerate, when cruising its fine. ill have to pay more attention to speed and revs but i havent noticed anything other then it just feels really wierd when it pulls. its about 4000 revs i suppose when the problem starts but its really only prominent at 50 mph or more if i sit n rev the engine or drive round it lower gears it doesnt seem to be an issue.
