Oem oil filter but different?

Post by vtectom » Mon Sep 02, 2013 11:56 am

Bought an oil filter off Tegiwa but it's different than the old one
from my local Honda dealer.

Any one seen & used one of these please?

Thread fitting size, outer diameter and sealing ring size look the same to me?
Do you mean the difference in the return holes?
It's not unusual for those to differ from one filter manufacturer to another.

It's on the car now :)

Made in Usa rather than old one in Europe.

Has more holes & thread is proud rather
than flush.

So is more holes better, worst or makes no
difference?

If the total size of holes into the filter is the same, then no difference - you could have more smaller holes or have less bigger ones, but achieve the same effect (within reason).
