No worries Darkam, you're not the first to ask! It was a bit of a freak accident it went that awesome tinged colour. I'd spent a good few hours with a DA sander, various grades of paper, final compound polishes an then a good polish up with Autosol metal polish. Literally the next day I drove some 100-150 miles to the car show that picture was taken at, popped my bonnet and was greeted with that finish!

Unfortunately an engine bay fire at another event left me with a heat shield covered in the extinguishing powder, which just eat into my hard work! I redid the work again but didn't make any long drives after and it just looked polished like everyone else's. I've since sold it. So I guess to get that effect you need to treat it with some heat, you might get a similar result with a welding torch concentrating on areas - who knows?

Cool on the clutch, @Drax?

As for the seat mounts - as I said before, I'm using them now. Sorry, you or Ste should have jumped on them when I first put them up for sale. Just that my parts and fitment have changed since then. What am I like? :P

Ah, beat me to it!

What's up with the pistons? You using Type S pistons? I may have some spare if you've got issues.

2/4 h22a pistons I received with the replacement block were damaged and needed swapping, but I don't have anything to press out the gudgeon pins so asked one mate - he took 6/7 weeks to do nothing then asked another and he's taken even longer.... to do nothing, but they have access to a press. the 2nd guy has promised to have them ready for this weekend though...hopefully!

I only need them swapping as they are on a set of F22 rods, as I have the bigger F22 crank for the hybrid build, so to save going overkill on the compression I'm sticking with standard h22 pistons and not atr/type s ones as im already going to (hopefully) get 12.1 + of compression from the F22 crank :)
