If you are removing the a/c from your car this goes in place of where the evaporator section sits.
Saves weight and the hassle of removing the evaporator from yours.

Remove the evaporator from the pplastic then blank it off

Go on then, I'll take it bud.

Looks like it might give me a bit more clearance than gutting the A/C housing one as I'm thinking of running some electrics through the old A/C pipe holes - do you know if its smaller?
