I went at them with a blow torch, and the left hand side one came off like nobody's business. The right hand side one will not budge. Cooked the nut for 5 minutes with a torch, put 215lbs on the end of a breaker bar and all that accomplished was to bend a wheel stud. Heated again, tried it with an impact and got the same result. Grrrrr.
I'll cut the damn thing off just to spite it now.

heat the nut then spray the cv joint with some freeze spray from halfrauds
